Kikyu app forwards cell calls to landlines

5/19/2015

Getting mobile phone calls at your workplace can be risky business if your boss doesn’t want to pay you for personal chatter. But what if the call arrived on the landline phone?

That’s the solution offered by Kikyu Call Forwarding, a new Android app that temporarily routes calls coming in on  a cellular line to another number.

App users enter their landline number and network. The forwarding can be activated from the app or through a Near Field Communication (NFC) ticker applied to the landline phone. With NFC, the forwarding automatically ends when you walk away.

In addition to the convenience factor, Kikyu developers point out that spending less time with your mobile against your ear can reduce potential health risks.

Before installing the app, users should check to see if their mobile service charges for call forwarding. And, they should keep in mind that the minutes they spend taking personal calls on the land phone will be charged to their mobile account, so having an unlimited talk time account would be the best bet.

Check out the app in the Google Play Store.
