PlusTransfer moves large files for free

10/30/2015

A frequent frustration of working with people who use a corporate mail server is the limitation on file sizes. When I want share a video, a PowerPoint presentation or some other large file, their server won’t swallow it.

I can always upload a large file to a cloud storage service like DropBox, but that requires both parties to register and learn the service’s procedures. Now I know about PlusTransfer, which looks like a much smoother alternative for everyone.

PlusTransfer will transfer files up to 2.1GB. It’s easy to use and requires no registration or user account. Just click the big + button on the PlusTransfer website, select a file to share and enter addresses for the sender and recipient.

In less than a minute, the recipient gets an email telling them the name of the file, who sent it and a link to download it. Plus Transfer keeps the files available for 14 days. The service is free and there’s no limit on how ofter you can use it. More details are at the PlusTransfer website.
