MotiFIT app tracks and displays exercise metrics

6/20/2015

One of the features of the Apple Watch is its ability to monitor and record your heart rate. I checked mine between sets at my weekly tennis match. It gave me a number, but I don’t know what it meant or how it fit in to my regular exercise routine.

That’s where the MotiFIT Heart Rate Monitor. can help. It works with different heart rate monitoring devices collect to your data and display it on your iPhone or Apple Watch. The app doesn't yet collect heart rate data from the watch itself).

The heart rate intensity halo and historical bar graph can e a tool to motivate you to challenge your limits. You can also use it to analyze strong and weak points in your workout so that you can come out even stronger next time.

A companion app called MotiFIT Run will chart and map runs and rides while  collecting data from heart rate monitors like the Scosche Rhythm+ and Jabra Sport Pulse. It also has a built-in music player and voice feedback that will periodically let you know how your run is going.

You can get more details at the MotiFIT website and follow their news feed @motifitapp on Twitter.
The MotiFIT Heart Rate Monitor and the MotiFIT Run can be downloaded for free the iTunes App Store.
