G700 flashlight is built around chip-based LED

I do a lot of driving after dark, so I’ve been on the lookout for a reliable and high-quality flashlight, one with enough brightness to light up a dark street in a sketchy neighborhood or help me change a flat tire.

There are lots of flashlight that claim to be tactical quality, but many of the better ones I found cost about $100 and sometimes more. The people selling the Lumitact G700 flashlight say their hardware is military grade at a far more affordable price of $56.

The G700 produces its light from LED chips rather than the LED diodes found in many flashlights. The chip allows the G700 to switch among six different focus modes. That allows the flashlight to use its 700 lumen output in different modes. Many other flashlights require you to physically change the lens to get a different focus.

According to the G700 website, the flashlight has an aircraft aluminum body that is waterproof at depths of up to 100 feet. It uses a rechargeable battery and its lamp life runs more than 1,200 hours.

The Lumitact G700 is sold only on the The G700 Flashlight website. Flashlights carrying the “G700” label that are sold on other sites are likely to be low-quality knockoffs.
