Puck turns a phone into a universal remote

The plastic puck-shaped gadget sitting beside the phone mixes Bluetooth with infrared beaming, the signaling technology used by most remote controls.

The Puck interacts with an app that can mimic the remote signals for most TVs and audio or video devices. Aim the Puck at your media wall and you phone becomes a universal remote.

Look for the Puck later this year for about $30.
